usually it’s on an epicly long trailer, not like some insane fishing pole strapped to the roof of a ute

Overcompensating much?

Having done some work (behind a desk) for some windfarms, I can say with certainty that these are enormous, far larger than typical.
I wonder why they didn’t use a sky-crane to carry them in?? I mean, other than a rolling advert for C&C.

Huh, wild.
That does make sense when you are negotiating a mountain road and your bigger concern is negotiating tight corners rather than keeping the overall height low to make it under bridges.

I’m guessing they do it that way because of the twisting roads?

I didn't watch the whole video, but my guess is that the road is too narrow and twisty for a long trailer. This is really a brilliant solution.

it’s China, their attitude is like “Is that safe?” “Eh, we’ll see.”

surely, like many business decisions, money was the deciding factor.

The way the blade bobs up and down while driving reminds me of a blind man’s cane.

That's pretty ingenious. It was cool watching them navigate those tight, twisty passages.

Now I feel bad for blowing so many of these up in Just Cause.
Also, it reminded me of ants carrying leaves.

I wanted the perspective from the tip of the blade. Considering the number of cheap GoPro mounts coming out of China, I would think they could have found one to mount a camera there.

80 tons according to the video, though the balance of that will be closer to the hub end of course. They are 165 ft long.

50m blades is certainly big but I’m not sure it’s that extraordinary. I live around a wind farm (~200 turbines) with towers ranging from 80-100m and blades going from 35-50m so I may be a bit biased though.
